The FCT commissioner for Public Complaints Commission (PCC), Mr Ezekiel Dalhatu Musa, has called for a synergy between the relevant security agents and the local vigilantes in order to tackle cases of kidnapping and banditry across rural communities in the territory.
Musa, who made the call at the weekend, noted that the spate of kidnappings, especially in the rural areas of the FCT was alarming, saying the situation had forced rural farmers to stop going to their farms.
He said the commission had received several reported cases of abduction, especially in some rural communities.
He said, “For example, a village chief in Abuja was last month abducted and killed after their abductors had collected ransom.’’
