The father of the nursing mother, Abdu Kama, who confirmed the kidnappers’ demand, said the victims’ families don’t have such a high amount to give.

“They contacted us on Friday demanding for 10 million naira as collective ransom for the six victims including my daughter, Jenifer Anthony, who gave birth newly, Rebecca, her neighbour and four others in the village.

“We don’t know what to do because the bandits have been terrorizing us with impunity as if we don’t have a government in this country,” he said.

He said the majority of the villagers had stopped going to farms because of attacks by bandits.

Contacted, the Kaduna State Police Command Public Relations Officer, ASP Mohammed Jalige, collected the names of the victims and promised to get back to our correspondent after getting details from the Divisional Police Officer in the area.

He didn’t call back as at the time of filling this report.
