Kidnappers of Kano APC senatorial candidate’s mum arrested

The police in Jigawa State have arrested two persons in Ringim Local Government Area who kidnapped the mother of the Kano Central senatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), A.A. Zaura,

The police spokesman in the state, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, told newsmen that based on intelligence, a team of policemen and vigilantes carried out the operation which led to the arrest of the kidnappers terrorising Jigawa and Kano axes.

He said the suspects, Safiyanu Muhammad (35) of Larabawa herdsmen camp in Gabasawa LGA of Kano State, and Musa Idi (40) of Laraba Gurgunya herdsmen camp in Taura LGA of Jigawa State.

He revealed that during the operation, exhibits recovered included three A-K 47 rifles, four magazines with 83 rounds of 7.9mm ammunition, two locally made pistols and bows and arrows.

He further said that preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects were responsible for ambushing and killing of an immigration officer on August 9, 2022, in Kilbu village, Birniwa LGA, as well as the killing of police officers at Kwalam village in Taura LGA on January 23, 2022.
