Kidnappers of imam collect N2m, rice, demand N2.5m more

Despite paying N2 million ransom, as well as two bags of rice, drugs and drinks to the abductors of the Chief Imam of Yangoji Central Mosque in Kwali Area Council, the kidnappers are demanding additional N2.5m to set the cleric free.

A family member of the cleric who preferred anonymity, said the abductors insisted on collecting N5m before the victim and one of his sons would regain their freedom.

He disclosed that the family had sourced N2m, saying two bags of rice and drinks, as well as drugs worth N42,000, were sent to the kidnappers in a forest at Sadauna in Kogi LGA of Kogi State.
