Kidnappers of herdsmen demand N6m, rice, wine

The abductors of two Fulani herdsmen and a woman have demanded N6 million and two bags of rice, as well as wine, as ransom for the victims.

City & Crime had reported that the herders, Jamilu, Audu and Zainab, were abducted in the wee hours of last Tuesday after gunmen raided their settlement in Achido community of Abaji Area Council of the FCT.

A member of the victims’ family, who preferred anonymity, said the leaders of the kidnappers called through a phone on Sunday and demanded N6m, two bags of rice and cartons of assorted wine.

He said the victims’ family was in a state of devastation because of the demand, even as he said the family was still negotiating with the kidnappers to bring down the ransom.

The spokesperson of the FCT police command, DSP Adeh Josephine, was yet to reply an SMS sent to her phone yesterday.
