A daring attempt by a three-man kidnapping gang to abduct a resident of Ballah, Sunday night, was foiled by a combined team of vigilantes and policemen attached to the Eiyenkorin division.
Witnesses said the gang, armed with machetes, attacked one Ahmed Arinmajagbe in an attempt to abduct him.
One of the witnesses said, “During the process, the victim struggled with them and they inflicted serious injuries on him but made away with his motorcycle.
“However, the vigilante and police teams, which were alerted to the incident, combed the surrounding forest in search of the suspects.”

Confirming the incident, the head of vigilantes in Kwara, Alhaji Saka Ibrahim, said. “The gang inflicted serious injuries on the victim, leaving him with a dangling wrist after he struggled with them.”
“After several hours of search, the team arrested one of the kidnappers and retrieved the stolen motorcycle, while the other two suspects escaped.’’
