Kidnappers beat Abuja chief to coma over shortage of ransom

Kidnappers of the Sarkin Fili in Mpape community in Bwari Area Council of the FCT have beaten the chief to comma over a shortage in the ransom paid by his family.

City & Crime had reported how the Chief, Peter David, was abducted penultimate Wednesday along with his wife, their three children, as well as four other residents, while two people were killed.

Speaking to our reporter on phone yesterday, the wife of the chief, Aisha Peter, who was released two days later in order to raise a ransom of N100m, said her husband was beaten to a stupor by his abductors over her failure to raise the amount as she only rallied and raised N8m.

She explained that, “I called them over the phone this morning to inform them that I only managed to raise N8m, and when I demanded to talk to him, it was our 14-year-old daughter that was able to speak and she told me that my husband could not speak as a result of the beating.

City & Crime further learnt that none of the four other residents kidnapped has been freed by the kidnappers who have place a ransom of N50m on each.
