Kidnapper nabbed in Edo after collecting N2.5m ransom

Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have arrested a 32-year-old suspected kidnapper, Ebube Osakwe, in his hideout in Akoko-Edo LGA.

City & Crime reports that the spokesman of the command, Bright Edafe, who disclosed this to newsmen, explained that the suspect and his gang members in their last operation collected a total of N2.5m from their victims.

He said the suspect confessed that he and his gang members (at large) usually kidnapped in the Egu-Agbor axis and took their victims to the Akoko Edo area from where they demanded ransoms.

He said operatives stormed the kidnappers’ hideout and arrested the suspect, while other members of the gang escaped, adding that effort was on to get them.
