Kidnapped wife Of Nasarawa Journalist, Others released

Kidnapped wife of a member of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Nasarawa State, Mrs Yahanasu Abubakar, and three other women, who were kidnapped have been released.

Husband of the kidnapped victim and Chairman, NUJ Correspondent Chapel, Suleiman Abubakar told Daily Trust that his wife has been released. It is not yet clear if a ransom was paid or not.

Similarly, Nasarawa State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Samaila Usman said, “The four NYSC Corp members reportedly kidnapped near Gudi along Keffi- Akwanga Road on march 27, 2019 were rescued at about 0930 pm due to sustained pressures from the search party that included Police Mobile Force personnel, Counter Terrorism Unit, and conventional Police officers that were formed by Commissioner of Police Bola Longe. They were reunite with their family hale and hearty.”

It could be recalled that they were abducted on Wednesday after about 50 armed men attacked their vehicle along the Gudi-Garaku road in Akwanga Local Government Area of the state while they were on their way to Lafia, the capital.
