A kidnapped vigilante identified as Ohikwo has been killed by his abductors despite payment of N2 million ransom by his family.

City News earlier reported that the vigilante was kidnapped around Toto area of Nasarawa State while returning to his Atako village about three weeks ago.

A family member of the deceased who disclosed this to our reporter yesterday, said the family struggled to raise the N2m for his ransom but that the abductors still killed him after collecting the money because they discovered that he was a vigilante.

He said, “Ohikwo was killed at the spot where they had asked the ransom to be taken to. The person that took the ransom there returned weeping about the killing.”

The spokesman of the Nasarawa State Police Command, ASP Ramhan Nansele, said the police were only aware of the abduction.

Meanwhile, a younger brother of the District Head of Kulo in Kuje Area Council, Mr Solomon Kulo, and two others who were abducted two weeks ago have been set free after payment of N3m.

A relative of Kulo confirmed the release of the three from the Sheku Forest.
