Soldiers and vigilantes have rescued six persons kidnapped by bandits in a forest in the Shanga Local Government Area of Kebbi State.
The Director of Security, Cabinet Office, Birnin Kebbi, Abdulrahman Usman said the six kidnap victims are hale and hearty and have since been reunited with their families.
He said troops of 1 Battalion Dukku Barracks Birnin Kebbi, on clearance operation with local vigilantes, conducted a raid operation at Kogon Damisa Hill around Saminaka in Shanga Local Government Area, a border town between Kebbi and Niger State.
He said during the operation, the team dislodged a large number of bandits and rescued six kidnaped persons, who had been reported missing.

He said, “Security operatives in the area comprising the army and the local vigilantes were alerted and they swung into action inside the Shanga bush and the victims were rescued.”
