The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni has said Mrs Tosin Nwosu, wife of the Deputy Managing Director (DMD) of the Sun Newspapers, Mr. Steve Nwosu who was kidnapped on Monday has been set free by her captors.
Mrs Nwosu regained her freedom around 2am on Thursday, Daily Trust learnt.
Toyin Nwosu was kidnapped on Monday morning by a seven-man gang who invaded their Okota residence in Lagos.
The Lagos State Police boss said he personally witnessed the reunion of the wife of Mr. Nwosu with her family this morning.
Though, he could not confirm if ransom was paid but he said effort was ongoing to track the kidnappers.
"I am glad and delighted to let you know that, Mrs Toyin Nwosu, wife of the Sun DMD, Mr. Steve Nwosu who was abducted by some armed robbers who invaded their home has been set free. She was freed around 2.30 am. She has since been reunited with her family. I personally witnesses it," he said.
It was learnt that the kidnappers dropped Mrs. Toyin Nwosu off near Zenith Bank by Festac bridge and sped off in a boat.
