The Paramount ruler of Ikulu in Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State, His Royal Highness, Yohanna Kukah, who was kidnapped on January 3, has regained his freedom.
The secretary of Ikulu Development Association, Moses Ishaya told our reporter that the chief was released by his abductors on Thursday evening and had since reunited with his family.
The Kaduna State Police Command confirmed the release of the traditional ruler. According to the police spokesperson, ASP Mukhtar Aliyu, the traditional ruler was released due to the intense pressure and surveillance from the anti-kidnap unit and other tactical units of the police.
The traditional ruler is a younger brother to Bishop Mathew Hassan Kukah, the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Sokoto.
