Operatives of the Edo State police command have rescued two farmers allegedly kidnapped in the state.
It was gathered that the victims, identified as Osemuanta Iluobe and Emuanta Ehizuenlen Oziegbe, were kidnapped in Irrua while they were working on their farms.
It was learnt that the police, in collaboration with local vigilantes and hunters, rescued the victims while combing the bush.
The commissioner of police in the state, Funsho Adeboye, said the victims were kidnapped at Ugbengun forest, Esan Central Local Government Area.

He said the divisional police officer in Irrua received credible information about the incident and his men immediately mobilised vigilantes and hunters and they embarked on vigorous operation to rescue the victims.
Adeboye said the victims, who were chained and padlocked, were rescued unhurt and reunite with their families.
He said effort was ongoing to arrest the perpetrators.
