A truck driver, identified as Abdulmalik, alongside two others identified as Yunusa and Fabian who were abducted at Kuje Area Council, Abuja, have regained their freedom after alleged payment of N3 million to their abductors.
City News had reported that the victims, who are residents of Abaji, were abducted eight days ago after they went to load timber at a forest at Gwombe community in Kuje Area Council of the FCT. The kidnappers had earlier demanded N9 million as ransom.

A family member of one of the victims, who preferred anonymity, disclosed that the victims were set free on Saturday evening at the same forest from where they were abducted.
He said family members and relatives of the victims rallied round to raise N1 million each to pay the ransom, even as he said he gave glory to God that the victims returned home and rejoined their families.
“It was a terrible experience which no one should pray for even his enemy to get into the trap of these criminals, but we thank God the family were able to rally round to source for the ransom,” he said.
When contacted, the spokesperson of the FCT police command, DSP Adeh Josephine, asked our reporter to give her time to get details from Rubochi police division.
