Kidnapped charcoal merchant rescued in Kwara

A charcoal merchant, Sikiru Bosere, abducted by gunmen on Sunday in Jebba, Moro LGA of Kwara State, has been rescued.

Bosere, 30, it was learnt, was rescued by the military, who had been on the trail of his abductors.

In a video sighted by City & Crime on Tuesday, the victim who was wearing orange coloured Jalabiya, was seen surrounded by friends with other military officers.

He said they were given raw maize to eat while in captivity.

Calls and text message to the spokesman of the state police command, Ajayi Okasanmi were neither picked nor replied.

However, the youth leader of Jebba vommunity, Alfa Abdulazeez, confirmed the release to City &Crime on Tuesday.

He said “Yes, he has been rescued by the military around Share in Ifelodun LGA and there was no ransom paid.

“His rescue has been a huge relieve to us and we thank God that he is alive,” he submitted.
