A joint security team deployed to Suru and Maiyama local government areas of Kebbi on Tuesday rescued two people who were abducted by suspected bandits in the areas.
The operation involved personnel from the Nigerian Army, Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Department of State Services (DSS), and local vigilante groups.
AbdulRahman Zagga, the director overseeing security services at the Cabinet Office in Birnin Kebbi, confirmed the rescue to journalists yesterday.
He credited the success of the rescue mission to Governor Nasir Idris’s unwavering support, providing the necessary resources to the agencies involved.
