Kidnap syndicate member arrested in Ondo

A member of a kidnap syndicate operating in Ondo  and some neighboring states, identified as  Victor John, has been arrested by  soldiers attached to the 32 Artillery Brigade  of the Nigerian Army,  Akure.

John was said to have been arrested, using military camouflage to terrorize people.

A military source told Eko Trust that the suspect was picked up at Ore in Odigbo local government area of the state, during a stop and search operation. He said the operation was carried out by a newly set up Anti-Kidnapping Sqaud of the Brigade which was to check the activities of kidnappers in the state and other neighboring states.

“They arrested the suspect inside a vehicle during a stop and search operation which was carried out by our gallant officers along the road in Ore town”, he said.

Items found in the suspect’s possession include a military identity card and one locally made gun. He explained that the suspect has undergone some interrogation and would be handed over to the Police for prosecution.
