The Chairman of the Caretaker Committee of the Nigeria Basketball Federation, Engineer Musa Kida, has identified lack of unity among major stakeholders as the bane of the sport in Nigeria.
The immediate past president of the NBBF stated this during a personality interview on the popular FCT Whatsapp platform, saying his wish is for all basketball stakeholders to come together as one family to improve the game in the country.

He expressed regret that the stakeholders have been unable to come together as one big family.
“I must confess that anytime I made the attempt, their demand is for me to resign as president so that they become president but in 2017, I have the mandate of the people, which is one of the points we could not agree upon.
“My wish is for all of us to come together and look at the results and see how we can improve on what NBBF has done in the last four years.”
Kida also said the NBBF learnt hard lessons from the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
He expressed regret that the D’Tigers and D’Tigresses were unable to do much better than the performance they put up.
“My little disappointment was that we were unable to come out of the group but I am very proud of the players. The games were very well contested, palm for palm but I think we were unable to compliment them from the bench,” he said.
