Amir Khan wants to leave a “great legacy” as he considers the options for the remaining fights of his career.
The 31-year-old former world champion returned to the ring with a swift knockout of Phil Lo Greco in April, his first fight in almost two years, and recognises he only has a limited time to fulfil his ambitions in the sport.
Khan has already called for a fight against Adrien Broner, while a huge domestic clash with Kell Brook could finally happen later this year, and wants to prove that he is still one of the world’s top fighters.
“I’m back with a big bang, and I had to make a statement when I came back,” Khan told Sky Sports. “I think I made that statement. It’s all about now being smart and finishing off, and leaving a great legacy.
“It’s been a long time I’ve been out of the ring, a lot has happened in my life. I was down a lot and I needed to get back in the ring.
“I’m happy in the ring. I’m a happy person when I’m fighting, and I’m glad I’ve got the opportunity to do that now. I never want to be back in that position again.”

It took only 40 seconds for Khan to stop Lo Greco, proof that his troublesome right hand is back in full working order ahead of more testing fights.
“I’m sitting on my shots a little bit more,” said Khan, who underwent hand surgery in the summer of 2016.
“I’ve been working on my power. My hand is better now. I’m hitting with more confidence.”
