Four key members of the #BringBackOurGirls (BBOG) movement have taken leave of absence, as its co-convener, Dr. Oby Ezekwesili emerged the presidential candidate of the Allied Congress Party of Nigeria (ACPN).
According to a statement by the group, four of the #BBOG group leaders including Aisha Yesufu, Florence Ozor, Maureen Kabrik and Dudu Bakam announced their leave on Saturday.
The movement also announced its new leaders as Edith Yassin (Coordinator), Nifemi Onifade (Spokesperson) and Gapani Yanga (Sit-out Coordinator).
The statement also said the four have stepped down in order to support, their leader, Dr. Ezekwesili, in her quest to be president in the upcoming election.
The statement further noted that Ezekwesili has also formally stepped down from leadership of the movement at meeting with members of the group in Abuja.
