Keshi should do more scouting – Lobi boss

Manager of Lobi Stars FC, Mr. Samuel Aindir has called on Super Eagles handler, Stephen Keshi to comb the Nigeria Premier League for more quality players as he said even the present NPL stars the coach is using are not among the best in the league.

Speaking to SHOT! after the Eagles barren draw with the Amavubis of Rwanda on Wednesday, the former junior BCC Lions star said it is a good thing that the coach is trying to build the national team around local players but he should do more by combing the league for more players.

He said most of the players the coach has been working with since he took over as Eagles coach are not among the best players in the domestic league as he insisted that the NPL can produce players who can easily qualify Nigeria for the 2013 AFCON.

Aindir said if Keshi wants to get the best, he should find time to move round the league venues now that the league is running smoothly.

“In my candid opinion, Keshi is doing the right thing by working with the local players. He is doing his best but he should be told that there are better players in the league.

“Those of us who are working in the system know what is on ground. Most of the players he is presently working with are not good enough. If he can visit the match venues, he will surely find more quality players”, he demanded.

In addition, Aindir said had the coach used more of the local players he took to Rwanda, he could have got a better result.

According to him, the home boys would have laid down their lives to win and impress the coach.

“I still believe that had the coach used more of the NPL players he took to Rwanda, he would have gotten a better result. I know they were eager to impress him.

“I therefore want to advise him to work more with the local players. If given a chance, most of them can bring back the lost glory”, he said.
