Spokesman of the NFF Executive Committee, Emeka Inyama, who revealed this in a chat with reporters, said this was part of the decision reached yesterday at the meeting of the Executive Committee in Abuja.
According to Inyama, the federation’s secretariat has been mandated to reach out to coach Keshi to conclude the details of the contract.
“Having received a written expression of interest from Mr. Stephen Keshi to continue as Head Coach of the Senior National Team, Super Eagles, the Executive Committee mandated the secretariat to reach out to Mr. Keshi to conclude the details of his contract and signing by next week, so that he can resume work ahead of the fast-approaching 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying series,” Inyama said.
This development has however brought to an end speculation that the African coach of the year award winner has concluded plans to dump Nigeria for greener pasture.
Inyama also revealed that the Executive Committee has approved the proposal by the Acting NFF President for payment of monies owed to late Assistant Coach of the U-20 Women National Team, Mr. Chris Nwaehi.
