Kebbi varsity lecturers to commence fresh strike

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Kebbi State University of Science and Technology chapter, Aliero, has warned that it would go back on strike except the state government honours the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) it signed with the union.

The chairman of the union, Dr. Ibrahim Garba Wawata, after their meeting at the university’s multipurpose hall said they would resume the strike action they suspended in 2018 after a memorandum of understanding was signed between the state government and the academic staff union.

He noted that the MoU was based on staff welfare, implementation and payment of promotion arrears, annual increments and arrears of Earned Academic Allowances (EAA) and Staff contributory pension scheme.
