Following the rebirth of the railway transportation system in the country, Kebbi State Government has concluded plans to send selected students abroad for training in railway engineering.
The Commissioner for Higher Education, Prof. Muktar Umar Bunza, made this known over the weekend while speaking with Daily Trust in Birnin Kebbi.

Prof. Bunza said a plan was underway to screen 300 to 500 candidates that would be trained overseas not only in railway engineering but also in medicine, information and communication technology (ICT) and other related science disciplines.
The don said the training in railway engineering was deliberate in order to keep the state at the same pace with the unfolding development in the country.
Prof Bunza said the state government had also approved the sum of N457 million being bursary for the payment of state’s students’ studying in the higher institutions across the country.
