Kebbi State government has said it would fast-track the state’s economic development through engagement and support for SMEs.
Governor Nasiru Idris while flagging off financial empowerment to 600 beneficiary traders sponsored by the Market Traders Association of Nigeria, (MATAN) said, in line with his administration’s commitment, he would fast-track the economic development of the state to promote employment and well-being of the people.

He said “My administration will continue to support every trader and business initiative in the state for the development of Kebbi State. I promise this year will be a year of infrastructural development in Kebbi State”.
Earlier, the State Commissioner for Commerce, Alhaji Usman Ladan in his welcome address said the state Ministry of Commerce has planned a number of economic programmes that would promote SMEs in the state this year.
Alhaji Abubakar Abdullahi Sokoto who represented the National Chairman of MATAN, Alhaji Jamilu Abbas said the association would introduce the program to provide soft loans to market traders in the state.
