The PDP in Kebbi State, at the weekend, elected Alhaji Haruna Saidu as its chairman during the state congress attended by delegates from the 21 local government areas of the state.
The election, which was adjudged to be credible, was conducted peacefully between Alhaji Haruna Saidu, and Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Dan Illela, a former Chairman of the Association of Local Government Councils in the state.
While announcing the result at the Gwadangaji Events Centre yesterday, the chairman of the electoral committee of the party, Senator Amange Barigha, said Alhaji Haruna Saidu polled 448 votes while Alhaji Musa Dan Illela polled 289 votes.
He said 743 delegates were accredited, 10 positions contested for and that 17 of the positions were unopposed.
