A member of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Hassan Umar, has been suspended over an alleged plot against the leadership of the house.
The lawmaker’s suspension was contained in a statement signed by the Clerk of the House, Suleiman Shamaki.
Umar, who is representing Kebbi North Constituency, was accused of unguarded utterances against the leadership of the house.
He was also accused of instigating some members against the leadership of the house and causing disharmony between the executive and the legislature.

The statement reads in part: “I, Suleiman Shamaki, the Clerk of Kebbi State House of Assembly, have been directed to inform the general public that the assembly, at its executive session held on Friday, April 12, 2024, unanimously resolved and suspended Hassan Umar as a result of his unguarded utterances.”
