Governor Nasiru Idris of Kebbi State has presented the sum of N250.1 billion as budget for the 2024 fiscal year.
While giving the breakdown of the proposal tagged ‘Budget of Infrastructural Development and People Empowerment’ to the state’s House of Assembly, the governor said the statutory allocation coming from the federation account are estimated in the sum of N79,254,269,350 while internally generated revenues are estimated in the sum of N18,387,341,791,26.
He said the recurrent expenditure accounts for N90,640,286,421,53 and they are broken down to personnel costs of N35,961,467,843,98 while overhead costs are N54,678,818,577,55.
The capital expenditure is in the sum of N159,493,805,335,48, he said.

He added that the 2024 budget is hinged on indices that are cautiously optimistic, recognising that the Nigerian economy as a whole is not completely out of the woods.
Responding, the Speaker of the assembly, Muhammed Usman Ankwai, said the parliament would give the budget speedy passage.
