Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has gifted 21 Hilux vehicles to the 21 newly elected local government council chairmen, following their swearing-in ceremony.
The governor presented the vehicle keys to the chairmen, all members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), during a ceremony at the Government House in Birnin Kebbi on Monday.
He stated that the provision of these vehicles was essential, as the chairmen did not have official vehicles.
“I think it would be wrong for elected council chairmen in my administration to go about without a vehicle,” Idris said.

He added that the vehicles would enable the chairmen to stay connected with their constituents and carry out their official duties effectively.
During the swearing-in ceremony at the Presidential Lodge, the governor expressed satisfaction with the APC’s victory in the local government elections, attributing the success to his administration’s leadership.
He urged the chairmen to focus on developmental projects that would benefit their constituencies.
“I encourage you to involve everyone, ensure grassroots impact, and fear God while discharging your duties,” he said.
