Kebbi: Lack of equipment hinders quick response to incidents, says fire service boss

The Kebbi State Fire Service Department has lamented its inability to respond to fire incidents in the state because it lacked the necessary fire fighting equipment.

The Operational Officer of the department of fire service in the state, Bashir Bello said lack of trucks and other fire fighting equipment was hampering the services of his department to deal with fire incidents across the state.

Fielding more questions from journalists in Birnin Kebbi, he said the department was managing to use only 3 old out of the 9 trucks which were already grounded. “We don’t have boots, fire jackets, water hose/pipes and branches that releases water with pressure”.
