He said in addition to the payment of N30,000 by the Federal Government, the state and local governments would pay N20,000 and N10,000 respectively, as monthly allowance to each of the 95 midwives.
“These efforts are aimed at reducing maternal and child morbidity and mortality,” he said.
He said the state would commence the payment of the harmonised salary structure to members of the National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives, the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria and the Medical and Health Workers Union. (NAN).
