Our reporter, during a visit Tuesday morning, saw the transformer in an open trailer at the site of the installation at the Transmission Station, near Bayan Kara in Birnin Kebbi.
A team of engineers from Kaduna were also seen disassembling the faulty transformer from the main supply poles.
The Business Manager in charge of the State, Malam Mukhtar Ibrahim, confirmed the development, adding that work has commenced in earnest to replace the faulty one.
“Hopefully, the installation will be completed and commissioned this Saturday and the issue of power outage in those communities will be rectified,” he said. Residents around the area expressed joy, hoping that work will be completed and light restored as promised in order to return to their businesses.
“We are really happy for the intervention of the management of the electricity company in Kaduna who brought the transformer and their engineers,” Joshua Daniel, a welder, said.
Areas effected included Bayan Kara,Tsohon Tasha, Dukku Barracks,Ahmadu Bello way, Federal Medical Center (FMC), communities behind Power Transmission Station and the entire Badariya area.
