The state Commissioner for Sports, Alhaji Shehu Adamu, said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kaduna.“The government had advertised for professional facility managers to bid and so far the response is very encouraging.

“We are receiving expressions of interest from within and outside the state,’’ Shehu said.

He said the bid would soon end and advised interested firms to indicate their interest before the closure.

Shehu advised contractors, who had defects in their jobs, to effect the necessary repairs before they would be paid their five per cent retention fees.

He said the government would soon show its appreciation to the state’s athletes who did them proud during the 16th National Sports Festival, which took place in February in Kaduna.

NAN learnt that the facilities were mostly those used for the festival.

They are located at the Murtala Muhammed Square, the Zaria sports complex and the Kaduna Township Stadium.
