Katsina to seal up Globacom over N400m unpaid taxes

Katsina state government has issued a one week ultimatum to telecommunication company, Globacom to either settle it’s outstanding N400m tenement rates or have its 105 base station sealed.

The General Manager of the state Urban and Regional Planning Board, Usman Nadada said the money owed was for the last four years and the last payment made by the company was in 2014. 
 
According to him, the government is following all due processes to recover it’s owed money which are mainly tenement rate and other development levy adding that the monies ought to have been paid January each year’

”we reached out even last month and gave them another month grace to no avail which elapsed this week and this should serve as a final warning before our sealing up” he said

He said, other outdoor  advertising agencies are indebted to over N45m noting that government will not relent until such debts are recovered.
