Katsina State Government says it will establish five mobile courts to deal with violators of the monthly environmental sanitation in the state.
The Executive Secretary, State Environmental and Protection Agency, (SEPA), Alhaji Lawal Inusa told newsmen in Katsina.
Inusa said that the establishment of the mobile court was necessary due to the non-compliance of some people to the monthly environmental sanitation within Katsina metropolis.
He said that the mobile courts would commence operations in 2016 and would be given all the powers and logistics they require to operate within the state.
He called on the citizens of the state and health personnel to enlighten people on the importance of personal and environmental hygiene.
He also called on citizens of the state to imbibe the culture of keeping the surroundings clean at all times.
The Executive Secretary noted that if people embraced the culture of personal and environmental hygiene properly, cases of malaria and cholera would be reduced to the barest minimum.
Inusa gave assurance that the state government would continue to accord environment and refuse clearance a priority.
He appealed to corporate and non-governmental organisations to complement government’s efforts by assisting with the fumigation of the urban and metropolitan towns with insecticides to eradicate mosquitoes in the state. (NAN)
