Katsina State Government said it has concluded arrangements for the recruitment of 2,000 graduates with relevant teaching qualification for its secondary schools, Secretary to the Government of the State, Mustapha Muhammad Inuwa, has said.
Speaking during the monitoring exercise of the commencement of payment of allowances to 5,000 primary school teachers under the State S-Power Scheme, Inuwa said the teachers to be recruited will also be under the same scheme.
Inuwa in a statement issued by the Director of Press in the office of the Secretary to the Government of the State, Abdullahi Aliyu Yar’adua, said recently the government has approved the release of N400million to pay 4 months areas of July – October to the teachers.
He attributed the delay of the payment to some administrative/financial processes which had been completed emphasizing that henceforth they would be paid their N20,000 monthly allowances along with state workers’ salary.
He charged the teachers to reciprocate the gesture by showing more commitment to work saying that government will consider them in replacement of any vacuum that might be created as a result of retirement or otherwise amongst the permanent teachers in the state.
He also urged them to notify their authorities in case one gets another job or any reason that requires quitting the S-Power scheme.
