Katsina State Government has set aside a Toyota Highlander and N5m to be won by the overall winner at the end of its National Talent Hunt Challenge.

According to the organisers, other categories of prizes would be given to runner-ups at the grand finale, which is scheduled for February 15, 2022.

The State’s Commissioner for Information, Alhaji Abdulkarim Yahaya Sirika, disclosed this while briefing newsmen on Sunday in Katsina.

Sirika said the overall best winner of the competition would be given a Toyota Highlander by Governor Aminu Masari, while three prizes would be given to the winners in each of the four categories.

He added that in addition to the motor vehicle, the first position would be rewarded with N5m, while the second and third positions would receive N3m and N1.5m, respectively.

The Commissioner said other 100 contestants would be rewarded with consolation prizes of N100,000 each as a token of participating in the competition.

He said, “The main objective of the Katsina National Talent Hunt Challenge is to encourage innovation and develop the potential talents of the youths of the state in particular and Nigeria in general. This is in line with the vision of Governor Masari, who believes in the potentials of the Nigerian youths.”

Sirika added that about 7,000 contestants submitted their entries for the competition and after the screening exercise, 250 people were selected through a very highly competitive process.
