The Emir of Katsina Abdulmumini Kabir Usman has approved the appointment of Malam Gambo Mustapha Amadu as the new Chief Imam of Katsina.
Until his appointment, Amadu was the deputy chief imam. He succeeded late Lawal Muhammadu who died in the early hours of Sunday at the age of 95.
The secretary of the Emirate Council and Sallaman Katsina Bello Ifo who confirm the development to Daily Trust said Malam Dayyabu Amadu shall served as his Ratibi ( deputy).
Consequently, the duo are to be installed with their new titles this Friday by the Emir at the palace, thereafter expected to lead his first Friday prayer at the central mosque.
