There is no gainsaying the fact that the Katsina Central Senatorial District needs a competent, capable and committed representation at the National Assembly.
We have a senator but we are yet to feel his impact. Over 90 per cent of the good people of the senatorial district believe they deserve better than what they are getting presently.

For his two years in the National Assembly, there is a disconnect between our senator and his constituents. He has failed us, to say the least.
Today, the senatorial district is at the mercy of bandits. Women, old and young, are being raped, while farmers can no longer go to their farms for fear of being kidnapped or killed.
Many peasants and petty traders who constitute over 99 per cent of the constituency are now living in abject poverty as they have lost all their valuables through the payment of ransoms.
The sad story is that from Danmusa to Dutsinma, Safana to Jibia, no one is safe. But there is no action taken by our senator, either on the floor of the hallowed Red Chamber or through other legislative instruments, to make the Federal Government to come to the aid of his senatorial district.
In fact, our senator has not deemed it necessary to visit his constituency to sympathise or commiserate with the victims of insecurity. He has never found it worthy to host a town hall meeting as some of his colleagues are doing.
A day hardly passes without reading in the national dailies that people are killed or kidnapped by armed bandits in the local government areas that make up the senatorial district.
I want to advise him to wake up from his sleep because his constituents are not happy with his leadership style. It is not too late for him to retrace his steps before people change him. Katsina Central is one of the most enlightened districts in the state, therefore, he should be very careful and not take them for granted.
Finally, I want to assure the senator that if he fails to heed this sincere piece of advice, his constituents will wait for a good opportunity to replace him. The days of ‘siddon look’ are over.
