Katsina APC: Imposition of candidates may Mar Reps primaries

Alleged imposition of candidates by the APC at the ongoing 15 House of Representatives primary elections holding today in Katsina may Mar the exercise.

Daily Trust gathered that already aspirants vying for such offices have started raising concerns over the move which they believed is detrimental to the principles of APC of equity and fairness.

Feelers from such constituencies show that several reconciliation meetings that failed to reached agreements between the aspirants have now turned to imposition of such preferred candidates.

The latest of such accusation is coming from Kurfi/Dutsinma House of Representative election, where one aspirant Jamilu Sadauki raised concerns over the way and manner the exercise is going.

In a chat with Daily Trust on Phone, the chief, strategic communication officer to the project, Abdulkadir Lawal insisted on holding a free and fair process noting that “we are optimistic of victory so this is just what we want.”

“We have been having advances from top government functionaries and party officials to opt out for a particular candidate but we are not doing so,” he added

However, the party spokesman Abubakar Danmusa has dismissed the allegation insisting that APC as a party is fair to all its aspirants and has no any preferred candidate at whatever level.‎
