The Karaye Emirate Council in Kano State has suspended the Village Head of Butu-Butu in Rimin Gado Local Government Area, Abdullahi Sa’adu,
Sa’adu was suspended following a petition alleging misconduct filed against him by the District Head of Rimin Gado, Alhaji Auwalu Ahmad Tukur.
The village head was accused of being involved in an illegal sale of land to a Fulani immigrant. He was also accused of leading the construction of a mosque without following due process which also led to conflict and disunity among his people.
A statement signed by the spokesman of the emirate council, Haruna Gunduwawa, revealed that the suspension was to pave way for proper investigation to be carried out by a committee set up to look into all the allegations against the traditional ruler.
The Emir of Karaye, Ibrahim Abubakar II, has directed the senior councillor in the emirate, Shehu Ahmed, to investigate the matter.
The emirate has also posted Madakin Shamaki, Malam Habibu Umar, to oversee the affairs of Butu-Butu village pending the outcome of the investigation.
Efforts to speak with the suspended district head yielded no result up till the time of filing the story.
