Chairman of Gwarzo council area Bashir Kutama made the claim during a townhall meeting of representatives of security agencies, village heads and imams alongside transport unions.
The town hall meeting according to the council Chairman is aimed at streamlining modalities to improve and strengthen security of lives and properties in the area.
He explained that despite the fact that the council has recently introduced migrants registration in all parts of the local government areas and the directives given to traditional leaders to form security watch committees in all communities in the local government, the influx of miners from Zamfara state has become so alarming and therefore calls for serious attention.
He added that they are taking adequate security precautionary measures due to neighbourliness with Katsina State.
Similarly, the district head of Gwarzo Barde Kerarriya, Shehu Bayero, appealed to the people of the area to continue to pray for peace and prosperity to reign in the area.
