The women wing of All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN) Kano
chapter has called on Kano state government to provide its members
with interventions in order to boost their production capacity during
both dry and rainy farming seasons.
The Kano State AFAN women leader, Hajiya Sidiya Fatima Sharif Gambo
Yako stated this during the International Agric Expo 2018 held in
Kano.
The Expo which was organized by the Raw Materials Research and
Development Council (RMRADC) in collaboration with Kano State Chamber
of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (KACCIMA), AFAN and DFID
was aimed at promoting agricultural activities along its value chain
in the state.
Hajiya Sidiya added that, Kano female farmers were in need of
assistance from government to boost their farming, livestock rearing,
poultry keeping and fishery activities.
Declaring Expo open, Kano state Governor, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje
represented by his deputy, Dr Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna called on the
beneficiaries of various agricultural loans to ensure prompt payment
of the loans to enable other farmers benefit.
Ganduje said this would help in keeping the agricultural activities
moving for better results.
