A Kano State Shari’a court presided over by Nura Yusuf Ahmad has remanded one Wasila Yusuf for allegedly addressing her neighbour’s mother as a witch and also calling the daughter a bastard.

The woman was dragged before the court sitting in Kwana Hudu and accused of addressing her neighbour as a witch after a fight between them, and also calling her daughter, Badiyya Auwal, as a bastard. When the prosecution counsel, Aliyul Abideen, read the charges against her, she pleaded not guilty.

The judge then ordered that she should be remanded in a correctional centre and adjourned the case to April 27, 2023.

He, however, ruled that she could be admitted on bail if she got someone that could stand for her.
