Kano State government and United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) have inaugurated a Child Protection Information Management System (CPIMS) aimed at documenting and monitoring of Child Protection cases.
Speaking at the inauguration, the state commissioner of women affairs, Dr Zahrau Umar said the centre will go a long way in addressing child related issues.
She said, the ministry’s collaboration with UNICEF is desirous as it has sharpened the capabilities of its staff through training and retraining, adding that “we look forward to more of such.”
In his remarks, the Ag. UNICEF Kano Chief field officer, Michael Bande said UNICEF is supporting Kano State to set up the CPIMS in order to help the state strengthen their monitoring and management of child protection cases.
