Governor Abdullahi Ganduje has announced the Kano State Government’s plan to build a N9billion three-level road interchange along Kano-Maiduguri road, with a completion period of 18 months, to decongest traffic in the Kano metropolis.
Ganduje disclosed this while addressing State House reporters on Monday after a closed-door meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the State House, Abuja.

The governor said he came to show President Buhari the prototype design of the road, which would be named after him upon completion, adding that funds to execute the road project would be sourced from internally generated revenue in the state.
He said, “Kano is a megacity. Because of the security situation, many people are coming to Kano now; hence traffic is increasing, buildings are increasing because people from the North-East and even North-West are coming to settle in the city.
“We revised the master plan of Kano State, such that all those areas where we have holdups, we either build an underpass or a bridge.
“Now, we have resorted to putting the three together in one place – that is a flyover, bridge and underpass – all at one point so that there will not be any traffic jam.”
