The Kano State Government has announced plans to collaborate with stakeholders to establish a comprehensive, safe and reliable intermodal and integrated transport system in the state.
Muhammad Ibrahim Diggol, the Commissioner for Transport, made the announcement during the Kano State Public Transport Policy Dialogue held in Kano.
He emphasised the critical role of transportation in driving economic growth and ensuring security within the city.
Diggol stated that a robust policy framework was essential for developing the state’s transportation sector.

He said, “At this dialogue, we anticipate comprehensive discussions to formulate an intermodal and integrated public transport system for the state.
Diggol also addressed the environmental challenges associated with urbanisation, including greenhouse gas emissions, congestion, air pollution and road accidents; emphasising the need for a robust transport policy to address the challenges, especially in the light of the fuel subsidy removal.
