Kano to build 5,000 housing units for teachers

Kano State Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)  with Family Homes Funds Limited for the construction of 5,000 units of homes for teachers in the state.

The project would be situated on a-220 hectares of land already provided by the state government.

A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, Abba Anwar said the project was a fulfillment of one of  the promises made by the governor to teachers.

Governor Ganduje was quoted in the statement  to have said “We are making quality education a reality. Education is a trust in our administration. We must give all the needed attention to our teachers. We are increasing the dignity of the teaching profession in our state. As we are having Government Reserve Areas (GRAs), we are now going to have Teachers Reserve Areas.”

Family Homes Managing Director, Femi Adewole assured that they would do their best to see that the project is executed in accordance with the set objectives.
