Kano Rerun: Commotion as Journalists run from armed thugs

Journalists under the umbrella of Correspondent Chapel, Kano have escaped lynch at Suntulma Primary School polling unit, Gama ward in Nassarawa local government, Kano.

The team of journalists was at the polling unit to cover the re-run election in the area, but only to be attacked by some thugs.

Correspondent of the Authority newspaper,  Madu-Jerry Buchi  narrowly escaped mob action when the thugs descended on him after they sighted him taking photos.

Quick intervention of some security personnel saved the journalist, who was later taken out of the polling unit.

Another round of commotion took place outside the primary school, when some political thugs armed with local weapons attacked people that were standing outside the polling units.

Three journalists; Jacob Ajakaye of Business day, Ted Odegu of the Punch and Sunday Alu fell while running for their lives.

Also,  Kola Oyelere of the Tribune newspaper was rescued by a good Samaritan after he was trailed by some thugs.
